The educational institution was built within the framework of the Housing and Urban Environment national project. The new school will solve the problem of the third shift. 

The building is a two-storey complex consisting of an educational building, a gym and a catering facility. The school provides an archive, an assembly hall for 250 seats, a room for parents, as well as hot and cold workshops for cooking. A total of 56 rooms. Before that, the school was located in a former kindergarten building.

Funds for the construction were allocated from the budget of the Chechen Republic. In total, 18 new educational institutions will be opened in the republic this year. 

According to representatives of the Ministry of Education of the region, all conditions have been created in this school so that, in addition to basic activities, children have the opportunity to receive additional educational services in various areas. The school is provided with all the necessary equipment and supplies. A sports ground, a jogging track and a mini-football ground were built in the yard.

The Housing and Urban Environment National Project consists of four federal projects: Housing, Ensuring Sustainable Reduction of Unsuitable Housing Stock, Mortgage and Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment. The project is designed for 2019-2024 and includes the construction of 120 million square meters. m of housing by 2020.   

Schools of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug will receive 13 video lessons of the Chukchi language, created with funds from the Presidential Grants Fund. For the implementation of the project of the regional association “Vetgav. Lessons from Chukotka “allocated about 3 million rubles. 

The multimedia project was filmed for more than six months. Native speakers took part in the filming of the videos. Lessons will be recorded on 300 flash drives, which will be sent to all schools in the region. Chukchi language teachers will be able to show videos to children or take them as a basis, supplement and conduct classes on their basis. Together with electronic media, teachers will receive teaching aids. 

“Vatgav. Lessons of Chukotka ”- a media course on learning the language of the most numerous indigenous people of Chukotka. The main goal of the project is to preserve, develop and popularize the native language. 

In the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, a lot of work is being done to preserve and develop languages. In particular, by the new academic year, schools in the region will receive 1.5 thousand textbooks on the Chukchi language for grades 5-6. As a reminder, 2019 has been declared by the UN as the International Year of Indigenous Languages.   

The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare gave recommendations on the choice of school backpacks and briefcases. It is noted that the weight of portfolios and knapsacks without textbooks should be no more than 700 grams for primary school students and no more than 1000 grams for middle and senior students. It is conducted by the Russia-Japan Society jointly with the Sakhalin Oblast Agency for Youth Affairs. The project has existed for over 20 years. The first international exchange took place in 1999. During this time, Sakhalin was visited by about 900 Japanese, and Japan – by more than 600 young islanders.  

The electronic journal “Education Bulletin” of the Ministry of Education of Russia is launching a new section “Questions and Answers”. In the period from July 15 to August 15, readers of the magazine will be able to send questions about education and upbringing to vestnik@eit.edu.com. The answers to the most pressing questions will be provided by specialists from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, experts in the field of education and upbringing. A special block with feedback will appear in the August issue of the journal before the start of the new academic year.

The main topic of the August issue of the Vestnik obrazovaniya magazine will be the development of secondary vocational education in Russia. The new issue will also include materials on the results of the 45th WorldSkills World Championship, which will be held on August 22-27 in Kazan.

The Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) are starting a project, within the framework of which an all-Russian and regional assessment of the quality of education in Russian schools will be carried out annually according to the PISA study model. An agreement to conduct such an assessment in 2019 was signed between the OECD and the Federal Institute for Education Quality Assessment, a subordinate organization of Rosobrnadzor.

Head of Rosobrnadzor S.S. Kravtsov recalled that the key task of the national project “Education” is Russia’s entry into the top ten countries in the world in terms of the quality of general education. 

“When determining the position of Russia relative to other countries in terms of the quality of education, we will rely on the results of international studies PISA (Program for International Student Assessment), PIRLS (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study) and TIMSS (Trends in Mathematics and Science Study). In order to receive data on the state of our education system and see the dynamics every year, we will conduct an assessment according to the PISA study standards, ”said S.S. Kravtsov.

The study will be based on the OECD’s PISA-for-Schools (PISA for schools) development. It allows the use of research instruments outside the cycle of the main international PISA study, while obtaining comparable data with the international scale of the previous cycle. These data will make it possible to assess the state of affairs in the education system of each region, to track the overall dynamics of development. Three subjects have already taken part in such studies: Moscow, the Moscow region and the Republic of Tatarstan. 

The regional PISA assessment will be carried out annually in 14-15 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The first group of 14 regions will take part in the study this fall. By 2024, all regions of Russia should take part in the regional assessment based on the PISA model.
